decisions, decisions [Apr. 29th, 2008|12:19]

Jokes about hookers aside... I'm on the fence as to how to spend my stimulus money. It's definitely getting spent, our bills are current and although gas/food prices suck, we're not in the poor house...

pro96 scanner
Radio Shack PRO96 digital scanner

Scanner, car antenna, software, programming cable, car adapter & wall adapter, all under $600
springfield xd 40, tactical
Springfield Armory XD 40 Tactical

Gun, holster, extra mags, all under $600

Amy really doesn't want another gun in the house, but as my friend Mike pointed out, she really didn't want me to get a tattoo, either...

=)

how to really stimulate the economy [Apr. 28th, 2008|15:13]

$600 worth of hookers and booze.

ETA: My wife points out that booze is a depressant, and hookers can be depressing. She suggests meth & laxatives.

let me see if i got this right... [Apr. 25th, 2008|14:45]
The oil refinery that provides 40% of gasoline for all of Brittan has its own private power. The power workers are going on strike tomorrow, meaning the refinery shuts down tonight.

The pipeline that not only feeds the refinery (200,000 barrels/day) but also outputs an additional 500,000 barrels per day is shutting down as well.

Four pipelines in Nigeria have been blown up in the past week. The most recent of the four happened today.

Also, U.S. military contractors fired on Iranian ships this morning.

Right???

$3/barrel rise in crude prices so far today

Radio Shack PRO-84 Scanner for $30. This is a more recent version of the PRO-83 that I've mentioned extensively on this blog.

As the decline accelerates and the mass media becomes even more of an establishment mouthpiece, you will need alternative means of news collection. Police scanners are one of the more effective means of doing so.

Your Score: the Shock Jock

(52% dark, 57% spontaneous, 52% vulgar)

your humor style:
VULGAR | SPONTANEOUS | DARK
Your sense of humor is off-the-cuff and kind of gross. Is it is also sinister, cynical, and vaguely threatening to the purer folks of this world. You probably get off on that. You would cut a greasy fart, then blame it on your mom, and then just shrug when someone pointed out that she's dead.

Yours is hands-down the most outrageous sense of humor; you like things trangressive and hardcore. It's highly likely (a) you have no limits (b) you have no scruples and (c) you have no job. Ironically, it's your type of humor that can make the biggest bucks in show business.

Buff Says:
You owe no allegiance to a country that has abandoned your principles. Remember that. Act accordingly. Protect yourself and the people you love. That's where your allegiance should lie now. When you recognize that, you'll lose the shackles.

Valentine's Day [Feb. 11th, 2008|15:19]

I never made a big deal of it, but I'm deciding to do one of those random-acts-of-kindness pay-it-forward type of things.

Comments are screened. The first person or two to post their name & address will get a Valentine's Day bouquet sent to them.

No strings attached, just to brighten your day a little.

EDIT: Two bouquets sent, to total strangers. I hope they enjoy the flowers, and I hope anybody reading this might be inspired to do something nice for somebody "just because."

I know, I know... it took me waaaay to long to get these posted... try having a two month old and let me see how much you get done =)

I'll have to get around to reading what's going on with other people and posting some myself, but life is still a bit upside-down, inside-out and backwards at this point.

flu question [Nov. 15th, 2007|14:48]

If you receive the flu vaccine, and are then exposed to the virus, will you still be capable of carrying the virus even though your immune system is "prepared" to prevent active infection of yourself?

Even though thiomersal has been removed from most childhood vaccines, is it still included in the 2007-2008 northern hemisphere flu vaccine? What about aluminum?

Is there any evidence so far that the three selected strains were guessed correctly this year?

Please provide links to studies, scientific information, etc.

Thanks!
